Here’s
a description of their team of ministers. “Each member of the Grace
Walk team has a passion to share the sufficiency of Jesus Christ, not only for
salvation, but for daily living. We have each experienced the bondage of
legalism but have been transformed by coming to understand our identity in
Christ and what it means to walk in grace. Consequently, He has given us a
burning desire to see the body of Christ growing in grace as well.”
For
a time, I thought for sure that the word “discipline” would be my lifetime
lesson. As a person who thrives on spontaneity with minimal structure, I
obviously need discipline. So my consciousness about my need for the spiritual
disciplines continues. But, God’s kindness or grace is another reality in which
I live.
My
journey towards a better appreciation of God’s grace began when I picked up
Brennan Manning’s Ragamuffin
Gospel.
It’s an extreme write-up about God’s extravagant love towards people that our
society would consider hopeless outcasts. Then, Philip Yancey’s What’s So
Amazing About Grace is also an excellent handbook that would be good medicine for those hardened by
church. If you’ve forgotten what it’s like to be rescued by Jesus from the
misery and hopelessness of sin, these two books are a must-read. Steve McVey
also wrote a book called Grace
Walk from
which this same ministry derives its name.
If
you’re feeling weary or experiencing the winter blahs, consider registering for
this seminar or the conference following.
Break
Forth Conference
It’s
happening at Shaw Conference Centre right here in Edmonton on January 29-31
weekend. What is it? It’s a worship conference. The ministry itself exists to
help people live a life of worship in Christ Jesus. Many FFACers are already
registered for this conference. If you’re one who enjoys listening to and
singing along worship music, the concerts alone would be worth it for you.
Why
do we encourage you to take in seminars and conferences? It’s FFAC’s commitment
to help followers of Jesus become healthy and strong in our life in Christ.
Learn
it, Do it, Share it
But
you haven’t really learned anything from any of these seminars and conferences
until you start getting involved to serve Jesus in FFAC. Live what you’ve
learned. Don’t hesitate to come forward and share it with others. You can even
start a new care group to discuss, pray and apply together what you’ve learned
and what you’re learning about God’s grace and what life looks like when every
aspect of our living is an expression of our worship to God.

PS
- The first wave of our Isabela Mission Team members has already returned to
Edmonton this past week. Look around for people with droopy eyes. Chances are,
these are jetlagged team members. More will be travelling back later this week.
Please pray for safe passage and we look forward to report to FFAC about the
mission trip.
