Okay, never mind that grammar buffs will be raising their eyebrows with my using a sentence ending with a preposition. That aside, you get what I'm really asking: To what or to whom are you committed?
After each worship service last 20th Anniversary Sunday, I challenged our new friends and guests in FFAC to seriously consider fully committing themselves to Jesus Christ and His cause. We become what we're committed to. Our commitments shape who we eventually become. Our bank statements and schedule are telling indicators of where our commitment really lies.
At FFAC, we dare say, if a person is not fully committed to Jesus and His work, one's commitment will likely acquiesce to what the world demands. That is, buy, buy, buy more! Even if you have to borrow, borrow, borrow. Indeed, as a nation, Canadians are up to our eyeballs in debt. To commit to the world turns out to be the more costly option. To commit to Christ and God's purposes is by far the more if not the most fulfilling and satisfying.

Recently, 20 persons took the course about how to share one's faith in Christ with others. It's our New Life Training Course (NLTC). They are praying for 25 friends, whom they trust the Lord will touch, so that they will be open to take a closer look of Jesus and the life He gives. These same NLTC trainees have committed to serve in the mission trip at Isabela and some also in Manila
Last Sunday, 7 persons dared to declare that their life is now yielded to Christ and His kingdom purposes before a watching world. Their commitment to Jesus says they're not turning back to the world's agenda. Their commitment is now exclusively living for and serving Jesus
What are you committed to? Who are you committed to? I hope that your answers to both questions in this order would be: I'm committed to help people become Christ-followers and I'm committed to Jesus Christ alone. It's FFAC's reason for staying open. We're encouraging every regular attendee here to make these commitments for the glory of God
